What we trade for being pregnant

Just read this in a BabyCenter email I got for my "You're 29 weeks!" newsletter. Each week they send you an update on what's going on with the baby and your body this week during pregnancy, along with articles that may interest you, advice, hints and tips, and a "funny thought" for the week. I thought this week's was particularly good, and was really funny so I wanted to share it:

If only you'd known you were going to trade...
• Monthly PMS for nine months of weeping
• Lacy thongs for cotton tents
• Sex for gas
• Zinfandel for Ovaltine
• Birth control for laxatives
• Going to the gym for getting up to pee
• Your waist for a hot-air balloon
• Kickboxing for kick counts
• Your innie for an outie — a way-outie
• Sleeping for groaning
• Freedom for the most intense love you've ever known

Does the craziness ever end?

With Kara's birthday getting closer and closer, the time has seemed to really take off! We've finally gotten motivated at the same time, so work to get ready for her arrival has finally begun (now that we're down to just weeks instead of months!) Since we're swapping rooms for her and Seth and to do so in the first place we have to clear out the extra room, we're getting the new room in the basement ready. Also, we're swapping my craft room and Brian's computer room in the basement, so we can't move the stuff from the office downstairs until that's done! Soooo, I've finished painting my new craft room and Brian has all the stuff to put the ceiling in. Now if we can get that done this weekend, we can get everything moved around and start clearing out the office upstairs. I'm SO excited!

After the office is cleared out, that will become Seth's room, so we'll paint it before we move his stuff in. After we paint and move him in, we'll have his old room, Kara's new room, ready to paint. We don't really have any "stuff" for her, so we don't have much to move into the room once it's done (except clothes!!!) I'm hoping that I can talk Brian into installing another half-rack of hanging space for her stuff. We'll see how that goes - by the time we get there he may just be done with home improvement projects for a while! (And, we still don't know what we're going to do with the bookshelves that are currently in the office...)

There's so much to do and so much I want to do but don't have time for... Seth naps really well, and for that I'm very grateful, but it still just never seems to be enough time to get it all done! Once Kara gets here I know that time will be even less - that's kind of a little overwhelming! But, people do it all the time, so I guess we'll figure it out as we go.

So, 30 weeks and counting! Seth came at 37 weeks, so that really puts it in perspective!
